I would make this a little more simple and probably just sew or glue a few elastic strips in for the things I bring with me, like ipod, earbuds, flash drive, phone and computer chargers, and portable wifi device.

DIY Accessory Holder Book
Check out this cool DIY project from DesignSponge.
You take and old book, some elastic, cardboard and sewing stuff and make a woven elastic inside cover that you can then jam all your wires and flashdrives and stuff in.
