Word to the wise: jewelry sample sales

There are two great jewelry sample sales going on now.

It is Kara Ross, who I think is incredibly talented and interesting.
When/Where: Tuesday, April 5 through Thursday, April 7. Daily 10am—6pm. 225 W 37th Street between Sixth and Seventh Aves, 15th floor
I hit the Kara Ross sale today and got a pair of earrings that I just saw on her site for $285 but  I got them for $50!!! Here is a pic:

The second sale is nOir, who specialize in blingy rhinestone and spiky jewels. I have a hedgehog and a snake ring from their previous sample sales. They do a lot of animals and daggers.

When/Where: Wednesday, April 6 through Friday, April 8. Daily 10am—7pm. 350 W. 38th St between Eighth and Ninth Aves, fifth floor
One word of caution about nOir jewelry is that I don't think it is plated very well or very thickly, so if you wear things every day like I do, the rings will turn your fingers black and green pretty soon. It helps if you keep the jewelry away from water, so take them off before you wash your hands.

PS- there is also a Rachel Leigh jewelry sample sale going on now but SKIP IT, it's not worth your time. Cheap looking stuff. The only things I liked were the pyramid stud bracelets with snakeskin pattern for $15, but even from a distance I think you can tell that the skin isn't real so I didn't get anything there.
