Men's sneaker shoes for work

I was inspired by an askmetafilter post to look at the variety of black men's shoes that combine the comfort of sneakers with the style of business casual so a man could wear them to work with minimal embarrassment or comments from others.

The problem with black sneakers is if they are not sleek and modern looking, you could end up wearing black Reeboks like every techie I work with and they are NOT fashionplates.

The soles can't be too thick and the treads can't be too noticeable in order to make a shoe work-appropriate.
