Hey, sweaty boob chicks out there!
Want to, like, maybe, not be so sweaty in your boobs?
I hadn't really ever considered this to be a major problem facing America today, but now that I think about it, it is kind of annoying.
Especially on hot days or when you are exercising.
So there are special things you can put in your bra to absorb sweat, and no, they aren't called "tissues."
You stick them under the underwire and the bra holds them in place.
$14.99 for a pack of 3 Pambra's bra liners
These have a peak in the middle and are all one color
$19.95 for an assorted 3 pack Curvy Corner Plus bra liners
I like that you can get all of the colors in one pack with these.
$18.95 Wick'em bra liner
These have a slightly different shape and are made of bamboo. They are made without dyes. I think that you only get 1 in a pack though.

More idiocy from SkyMall
Not enough?
Here's some more!
$99.99 Color changing shower head light
Is my leg bleeding? Nah, it's just the red cycle on my fun shower light.
The purpose of showering is to get clean and get out, no?
Why would you want to limit what you can see and have a disco dance party in there?
$499 Townhaus dog crate
This puppy jail costs more than my bed. (Thanks, Ikea!)
I understand the desire to not look at a wire crate, but just get some wood and cover it up! You don't need to get a $500 cabinet with one side missing.
$29.99 Cat eyes sleepshirt
What better way to freak out your bedmate than to have them roll over to this in the middle of the night?
Also, true or false: you have seen at least 5 of these walking around as dresses in Williamsburgh
$9.99 Ruby slipper socks
Not gonna lie, I want these.
Why wear shoes and socks when you can fake wearing both by just putting on something with the functionality of neither?
$119.99 Illumicube
What is an illumicube you ask? Well, it's this. And it costs 120 bones.
It has lights, and it sits there. And it's a cube. And it takes up space.
So, if you are looking for a way to spend money and take up space and also want something to blow your frikkin mind when you are high, this is your jam.
$99.99 Touchscreen compatible women's gloves
First of all, let's start off with the fact that you can get touchscreen gloves for under $20 at any convenience store.
Next, let's talk about the look of these. What is going on here?!
For just $100 we can make your fingers look like a frat couch!
Do you want your gloves to show the outside world that you are an assassin? And use your smartphone at the same time? Well congratulations, you've found your item.
$149.95 Ultrasonic hand moisturizer
When I first saw this, I thought it was a nail polish dryer or uv light. But wait, there was one of those 50 pages ago in the catalog. No, turns out, this is a fancy machine that moisturizes your hands. Sonically.
I have never ever seen this before. Do you know anyone who has used anything like this?
And now the piece de resistance, the item to end all items, the cosmic joke of SkyMall.....
ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you......
Drunk Cat Canvas Print!!!!!!!!!
$1,199.95 Drunk Cat Canvas Print
Yes, you read that correctly. This beauty will set you back over $1000.
Also, despite being a name I would absolutely give to this while mocking it, the title of the item really is, in the catalog and everything, "Drunk cat canvas print."
You never need to look at SkyMall again, because this is the best and most outrageously priced thing they will ever offer.
The End.

Etsy Finds of the Day: Vintage Red Shoes
Red shoes are great and versatile and I have 2 pair that I wear often (one high heels, one low heels).
Red is also a great color to pair with your Fall clothes (grays, browns, blacks, olives) and makes your outfit stand out.
Here are some cute vintage options:
$55 Vintage red 1970s heels
Closed toe and cute chevrons in white, yellow, green, and blue in front.
$26 Peep toe Bernini Slingbacks
Nice V in the toe area
$44 Bandolino pumps
Look at the pretty flower at the heel!
$53 Red Gucci loafers
Loafers are back now, so wear these with skinny jeans and a man's shirt.
$34 Leather flats
These have a lot going on with the buckles and the grommets, so make sure they don't come off too Renaissance festivalish.
$39 Scalloped pumps
Fun detail!
$19 Vegan button booties
These look easy to walk in and would look good with tights and a dress.
$43 Vintage tassel loafers
These are more feminine and ballet-style than many of the loafers I've seen.
Red is also a great color to pair with your Fall clothes (grays, browns, blacks, olives) and makes your outfit stand out.
Here are some cute vintage options:
These are such a good deal, and they are my size, but I am going to have to stop myself from buying them because even I think that 2 pairs of red heels is enough.

Stupid shit from SkyMall
I've been traveling a lot for work recently, and you know what that means....SKYMALL!!
Someone out there knows that people get drunker on planes than on the ground and that drunk people make hilaaaarious purchasing decisions, and smartly invented SkyMall.
Here are some items that almost seem like a good idea while you are in the air:
$69 Metal ice chest
Holds 15 quarts and looks cool with the diamond grid pattern. But then you're like whoa it's $70 box wtf
$1,799 Solo Wheel
So here is what I think the pitch is:
Have you ever wanted a unicycle but worried that it wasn't lame enough? Wish your Segway could be even weirder? We made this just for you!!!!!!!
$24.99 Paper log maker
What?
You use this to squish paper together to make it into a log for your fireplace. Wayyyyy easier than getting wood.
$99.99 Cherry watch holder
Do you have this many watches? How many wrists do you have?
$39.99 Wireless road mouse
It's a little car, but it's a mouse for your computer!
Kinda cute, but couldn't you just take the bottom off a hotwheels car and glue it to a mouse for a whole lot cheaper?

Dipped Pitcher
$13 (on sale from $19) Dipped pitcher from West Elm
I like the clean look of this pitcher. All white would have been boring, as would all blue, but the dipped layer looks fresh and much nicer.
The only issue is that it isn't that big. I am continually frustrated by how small most pitchers are!
This one is about 8" tall. I want one that holds more cups!
Anyway, cute pitcher.

Etsy Finds of the Day: vintage raincoats
It's getting cold and rainy, and if you don't already have a cute raincoat, you should get a fun vintage one.
$52 Vintage tan raincoat with hood
I love the integrated hood on this one and how it isn't separate but in line with the lapels. Very elegant!
$68 Vintage floral raincoat
This print kind of reminds me of a couch, but it is cheerful and fun.
$30 Red and white polka dot raincoat
It's opaque, not transparent like I first through, but it is bright and peppy.
$131 Leopard print raincoat
Even though this is from the 1990s and not the 60s, I think this is the raincoat that Joan from Mad Men would have worn.
$180 Clear poppy raincoat
The clear vinyl has a few poppies printed on the front and is really modern looking. I like the idea of a see-through coat. It automatically goes with what you are wearing no matter what it is, because it IS what you are wearing!
$32 Translucent polka dot raincoat
This one isn't as clear as the poppy one, but you can still see through it and that's neat.
It even comes with one of those matching triangle head scarf things instead of a hood!
$59 Reversible printed raincoat
Chevrons are in and neon is in, so what are you waiting for? It's a little crazy, but it will cheer you (and everyone who sees you) up on a gray day.

A few of my favorite things: Mifi
Maybe I am more of a gadget person than I thought.
Probably some of my friends just read that and went "duh," but even though I work in software and have some electronics, I don't consider myself to be the kind of person who rushes out to buy the latest thing.
But more and more of my favorite things are gadgets.
The latest is my mifi.
For the uninitiated, it is a personal wireless hotspot that you can carry around with you and create your own internet wherever you go.
My Droid smartphone could do this, and so can the iPhone (both for an additional cost or at the price of "tethering" which means you can't use your phone while it is being the internet).
But the mifi is soooooooo much better. Like, worlds better.
It's fast, its range is good, and you can use a bunch of devices on the wifi at once (2 computers and an ipad and 2 phones, for example).
Work bought me mine, and I am not sure if it would be cost-effective for someone who doesn't travel a lot and need internet with them, but for me it is great.
I love being able to go anywhere and know that I have good reliable internet.
Low budget hotels tend to offer internet free in the rooms, but for some reason nice hotels charge you a buttload for it. PLUS they tend to charge you for each device, so if you want to use a computer and an ipad you would have to pay double. Which is total BS. Especially if you know how wireless works.
But now, I don't care about any of that because I never have to use it and can just use my mifi.
You can get mifis through several companies, and it probably makes sense to get whichever one your phone service is through.
When you buy one, you pay for the device and a monthly data plan, so it's kind of like a cell phone. They aren't cheap, I think the cheapest plans are like $30/month, and that is on top of your cell phone bill.
But they are totally cool.

Emergency broken nail fix
I hate it when my nails break!
Especially when I am not home and don't have my tools.
Or even a file.
Well, on my work trip to Seattle, many of my nails broke (I don't really know why, maybe from lugging my heavy bags).
I am too cheap to go out and buy a new file since I know I already have 2 or 3 at home, and I was kicking myself for not packing one.
So there I am, with broken nails and nothing to fix them.
Except!
One of the walls in my office was exposed brick.
You know what brick is? Kind of rough, kind of like an emery board.
So yes, I filed my nails on that wall.
My new coworkers didn't see me but if they did, I hope they would think that I am resourceful instead of totally bizarre.
The brick does a good job of rough filing, and then to smooth the edges, jeans are a nice way to finish them off.
Just pretend your jeans or the wall are one giant nail file and drag your nail in one horizontal direction. You don't want to go back and forth too much because that can tear your nail and make it weaker. Then it will break and you will have to go back and file it on a wall again.
p.s. NEVER google image search "broken nail" because some truly horrifying things come up. Really, don't. You're welcome.

Fancy Bar Trunk
$16,000 Waterford Crystal Bar Trunk
Whoaaaa
The rosewood interior is crazy beautiful.
I think you'd really have to like drinking to own something like this, which puts me out of the running.
Also, you'd have to have a nice liquor collection, because I don't think this would look as classy with warm Natty Ices in there. Though the crystal would class up whatever special alcohol you had (coughFOURLOKOcough).

State-shaped cast iron pans
$150 (Rhode Island)- $2,500 (Texas) Cast iron pans in the shape of states (plus shipping)
Thanks to Kate for the link!
So these are what they look like--pans shaped like each one of the United States.
Would you want a state skillet?
Would you want one in the shape of your current state, your home state, or your favorite vacation state?
My home state, Massachusetts ($250), wouldn't be very practical to cook anything in because it is small and narrow and weird.
What if you are from one of the square states? Wouldn't it be a stretch to pretend that they made it just for you? I mean, I see that the handles are offset and angled, but still.
I think these are really cool to look at, but I probably wouldn't get one.
There are some people I can think of who have a lot of state pride and would probably love to cook steaks in the oven on that big Texas pan, but I don't think that's the norm.
You can order them "raw" or pre-seasoned for an extra $30.
Each pan comes with a magnetic display hanger, so I guess they might be meant more for art than use.
I guess they could be fun to bake and serve something like spinach and artichoke dip.

Review of Marvis Jasmin Mint Toothpaste
IT'S AWESOME!
The end.
JK, but not really.
$10.50 Marvis Jasmin Mint Toothpaste
I'd heard this toothpaste recommended a lot on metafilter and in other places, but I was like "$10 for toothpaste? And it's weird and I don't know if I'm going to like it? Seems like a bad idea."
But then I linked my American Express points to my Amazon account (how cool is that btw?) and got it for free-ish. So the risk was lower and if I didn't like it, I could just pretend it never happened.
Anyway, I'm really glad I tried it because it is very cool.
Those of you who know me well know that I HATE brushing my teeth. But it is a necessary part of life if you want to keep having teeth, which I do because I like crunchy things, so I do it.
This is making it better.
When I am sort of looking forward to having the toothpaste in my mouth, I hate the idea of brushing my teeth significantly less.
Now I just have to make sure I follow through and keep brushing them instead of just eating some toothpaste. STOP JUDGING ME!
So, what does it taste like?
Kind of like perfume plus fanciness plus mint.
The first thing that hits your mouth is the perfumey scent, and then the sweet jasmine flavor comes in and then the mint.
It's foamier than normal toothpaste, but not weirdly slimy or chalky like the Tom's of Maine toothpaste.
It doesn't have much grit to it, which I am not used to.
But I'm a fan.
Plus, the packaging is so pretty!
It's like makeup instead of medical equipment.
Nice to have a tube you can keep out and be proud to look at.

Poppin for brightly colored desk accessories
Thanks to Refinery29, when you follow this link, you get $60 worth of stuff for only $35 for the next 4 days at Poppin, a fun office supplies store.
One fun thing about the site is that you can shop by color instead of just by type or function. So you can click the yellow tab and everything yellow shows up.
Here are my picks:
$12 pink tape dispenser
Of course, this comes in a million other colors, as do all of the items on the site.
$7 Aqua ruler
I like how big the numbers are
$5 Orange map tacks
These only seem to come in white or orange right now, and I think they are cuter and more fun than push pins.
$30 Green cable case
This helps you organize all your cables so they aren't a giant mess on your desk and don't knock everything over when you move something. I need this very much. It includes a surge protector with 4 sockets and twist ties to keep the cables in.
$14 Red softcover folio
This is a great way to keep your papers clean and unrumpled when you travel. I usually end up sticking all my papers in the laptop bag and they get all messed up.
$4 Medium notebook in SnoconeSo bright and cute, you might not mind taking notes.
$100 Design A Desk set
You can also get a whole set in various color schemes for $100.
