Woven hair pendant 1860-1880, used to be a brooch but then turned into necklace.
This one is from 1850 and has 3 types of hair (possibly from different children) in the "Prince of Wales" curl style.
A woven hair bracelet from 1860-1880 with gold clasp. Might be itchy. Is it weird to wear the hair of someone you never knew?
Not all hair jewelry is mourning-related, some are just for fun and tokens of affection. This one probably was a mourning pendant though because of the gray.
Someone should make modern hair jewelry with dyed hair and all the cool colors and varieties we have now. I would like it.
Remember when Chris March presented his human hair clothes on Project Runway and everyone thought it was gross? I thought it was interesting and looked good.
