Frederique constant Maxime watch

$4,250 from Bloomies
This pretty watch with a mother of pearl engraved face comes with two bonus vocabulary words:

Galuchat: means stingray or shark skin, named after Jean-Claude Galuchat who was Louis XV's master leatherworker and introduced the material to France in the 1700s on furniture and boxes. It was first used in Japan in the 8th century on sword handles and breastplates because it is so tough.

Guilloché (Guilloche):a decorative engraving technique in which a very precise intricate repetitive pattern or design is mechanically engraved into an underlying material with fine detail. It involves a technique called guilloché after the French engineer “Guillot”, who invented a machine that could scratch fine patterns and designs on metallic surfaces. It can refer to engraving or to the fine patterns that you see on money or bank envelopes.
