Faux bois quilt

You might not know French or modern design-speak, so I will translate for you. Faux bois is "fake wood" and refers to things that have a wood-grain look or texture. Design*Sponge was obsessed with it for a little while and featured a lot of faux bois painted dressers and stuff.

I tend to think it is tacky when painted or printed on, but I really like the way it looks stitched into this quilt. This would probably be a good beginning quilting project for DIYers too because even if you mess up the needlework, you can just say that nature is imperfect too.
