$39.99 (was $70) Hadley wedge peep toe
Linen and red leather play off each other really well, and the woven espadrille side is fun and light and beachy.
These look good to walk around in, since they have the ankle strap and won't fall off, and have a low wedge.
They would be good with shorts or dresses.
$49.99 (was $65) Valerie flat
Almost the same style but flatter and a little more casual.

$15 Menswear
Whee! Time to hit the $15 Store again!
This time, the menswear section looks pretty good:
$15 (was $165) Live Mechanics Houndtooth wool jacket
Only in size 3XL
$15 (was $170) Live Mechanics gingham print green jacket
I love this one and wish I could get it for E, but sadly, only 3XL again.
$15 (was $90) Cloth Logic coat with epaulets
This one is a little longer than most jackets, which is good for windy days and also for guys with a bit of a gut.
$15 (was $107) Cloth Logic Brushed canvas blazer
I like the dark green color and the ribbed bands on the cuffs
$15 (was $79) Monarchy short sleeve button down Gingham patch shirt
I don't know how I feel about pre-sewn patches and intentionally old and distressed looking clothes, but the cut and color of this shirt are nice.

Argan oil for hair
Everyone seems to be raving about argan oil recently.
It comes from a tree and it's the ingredient in the Moroccan Oil brand products, and is supposed to make your hair healthier and shinier.
I've been wanting to try it, but I'm cheap, and I don't like spending $20ish on something I don't know if I want.
Today, though, I was pointed to this oil on Amazon and you can buy the 2oz version for just $4.99, so I'm considering it.
$4.99 Agadir argan oil treatment
Have you tried any argan oil stuff for your hair or skin?
Was it worth it?

The Shops at Target: The Webster
So Target is doing "the shops" now which are kind of like the crazy collections they used to do with Missoni etc, but not as exciting or high end.
Anyway, this seems to be the new model.
The current "shops" have clothes, candy, pet stuff, and home stuff. I already highlighted my picks from their home collection Privet House, and now I want to move on to the clothes.
The Webster is the current pop-up shop, and it has a few good finds in the shoe department, though I wasn't a hug fan of the beach-style clothing.
My picks:
$39.99 The Webster cap-toe wedge
These are linen with a little touch of gold thread shot through the toe.
They also come in pink:
(click to buy)
$29.99 The Webster cap-toe ballet flats in green and blueCute and proper.
They also come in a nautical print:

Drink fountain as outdoor lighting?
$29.99 Wedding drink fountain
Ok, so this is supposed to be for serving champagne or cocktails at a party, but I think it would look pretty as the centerpiece on an outdoor picnic table at night.
Wouldn't it be fun?
You'd have to have an outdoor outlet, and it's probably flimsy plastic so you couldn't leave it out all the time.
A garden party, with some water in this?
Or lemonade? Or pink champagne?
Even just to look at and not drink from, it would be nice.

Cat litter cabinet
This is a really smart idea.
I always look at the SkyMall catalog and see the special fake planter that hides a litterbox or a faux cabinet, but using a real cabinet looks a lot cheaper and you have many more options of style.
It looks clean and unobtrusive.
Here is the inside:
You can fit a bunch in there!

"We offset [the door] a little bit by putting the door on the far back side, and putting the kitty litter box on the far front side. This lovely little design feature forces my kitties to jump out of the box and walk about on a kitty litter tracking mat seen in the picture above. This results in almost no litter tracking out side of the cabinet!...It keeps all of the kitty mess contained in a the container (there's room for the scoop in there too!) and there is virtually no smell!"Seems like a great solution, especially when you are tight on space and have to put the litter box in your bedroom or living room and don't want it to smell everything up.
50% off Lands End Canvas swim today
Today, if you use these codes, you get 50% off swimwear and free shipping over $50.
Take advantage!
Save 50% when using promo code CANVASSWMR & PIN 2150 at checkout.
here are my picks:
normally $95 Chambray bikini
I think the tie-front is fun, and the shape of the bottoms is flattering. It's not a string, so it won't cut into your hips as much, too.
normally $105 Reversible butterfly/floral bikini
This is black with white butterflies on one side and purple and red flowers on the other side.
So with this discount you get it for $53, and it's really 2 bikinis in one, making it only $27ish each!
normally $60 Stripe twist halter one piece
The U shape of the neck is cut, and the crossed stripes at the bust draw eyes upward and away from thighs.
normally $50 Vintage board shorts
These come in a few colors. I like the floral and blue wave the best.
normally $50 Clean 5" board shorts
These are shorter but still manly and appropriate. Not shortshorts. I like the chambray, but they also come in red and cream, which are nice too.

5 ways of looking at a skeleton swimsuit
$143 Wildfox Couture skeleton one piece bathing suit
Now, you could look at this and say "Cool! Bones!" and you'd be right, bones are cool and the black and white graphic image is fun.
OR
You could look at it and want it because it's a flattering bathing suit with a cute low back.
OR
You could look at it and think about the stretchiness and thinness of bathing suit material and how it contrasts with the hard, structured nature of the bones pictured on the suit and see the image as a funny oxymoron.
OR
You could look at it and think about how bathing suits are the clothing item that can be least about fashion and most about what your body looks like underneath the clothes, and think this is comment on internality, externality, and what we cover of ourselves.
OR
You could look at it and think about how the ideal bathing suit body that we see in magazines is mostly just bones and boobs. The skeleton image turns into a comment on the male gaze and what is expected of women's bodies in our culture.
What do you see in this bathing suit?

Ankle-breakers are the hottest new shoes
Suffering is beauty, right?
And fashion is pain?
That is all I can think of when I see shoes like the ones featured here.
They seem to be designed specifically so women can make one slight mistake and roll off the shoe and break our ankles or worse.
I am a fan of heels (within reason), and I do like funky architectural cantilevered shoes (like these), but you gotta know when to quit and when the tools you are using to walk around are actually working against you.
Ok, so let's look at those.
They have an 8" heel, or should I say "heel," and a 4.5" platform in front.
WHAT?
Come on!
4.5" is already my peak heel height, and adding another 3.5 on that is just crazy. Think about how hard it will be to balance your weight to stand in these. Oh, don't forget, then you have to actually move. Taking a step forward in these shoes sounds about as scary as that first step out of a space shuttle would be.
So much more reasonable, at 7" right?
NO!
Is this the summerish version of the previous ones?
No wonder these are on sale. I can't imagine a healthy woman looking at them and saying "yes, that is just what I need."
There are plenty more shoes for you to fall off of and tear some tendons:
$99 Privileged Ferra Royal blue tieback heelless platform
I think these are beautiful and architectural and artistic. But I care too much about not having shin splints to ever buy or wear them.
$98 Privileged Karvis black studded platform
These say "I could kick your ass!.... If only I could take more than a two inch step at a time."
$64 Privileged Blithe Coral platforms
It's so much fun to colorblock. Maybe later you can also colorblock your crutches later by spray painting sections!

Cute rain boots on sale from Loeffler Randall
$98 (was $195) Loeffler Randall Rain boots
The weather is crappy and is going to continue sucking all through the week.
Do you have good rain boots?
I had some from DSW but they wore out and started leaking, so now I am on the hunt.
I've been eyeing these but I want to try them on since my calves are wide and I am not sure if these will fit over them.
They look like real boots, and they are nice enough not to have to take off when you get to work.
They even have a zipper up the back!
I like that the shoe part is all one piece of rubber so it won't leak like my other ones.
These also come in tan.
