What to buy from Modcloth's sale section
$53.99 Sprig to Mind temporary wallpaper in teal or gray
It is easily removable for us renters, too. You just peel and stick it. Great for an accent wall or bathroom. Plus you get a generous 11 yards for this price.
$34.99 Dog bowl and food container
Convenient all-in-one.
$24.99 Ballpoint Betty shorts
Classier than cutoffs and the navy goes with everything.
$108.99 Stop Staring Quick Wit dress
Why bother making up outfits when you can just wear a dress that looks like a whole outfit? It even comes with the belt. You just have to wake up and remember to put on shoes and underwear.
$34.99 Diagonals skirt
I think at 16.5" this might be too short for me, but for you more daring ladies, this would look great with a colored tank and even leggings.
$34.99 Time is an Illusion brass cuff
Just the idea of a watch as a bracelet.

Blast gallery
My friend and former coworker, Scott, is opening an art gallery in NJ this weekend.
They also have an online store where you can buy cute little things in addition to the art.
Check them out here.
$44 Orbit ring
This is cool semi-DIY jewelry: it comes in a flat pack and then you punch it out and bend it into shape.
$25 Brass Ouija cuff
Nostalgic and pretty at the same time. Also, I just noticed that Ouija is "yes" in two languages. Wonder if that is intentional.
$9 Cigarette dispenser
No one should smoke just to have this, but if you already do smoke, you might as well get your cigarettes from an elephant's ass. Just to remind you how dirty and not funny and not cool smoking is.
$56 Mirror headphones
Because it's always a good idea to make sure you don't have anything stuck in your teeth before you dj a set.
$25 Taxidermy snake tongue in a vial
This would make for a pretty badass necklace.
$13 Zombie pet shop.
I do believe they glow in the dark.
$150 Papercut art by Jad Fair
From his series now on view at BLAST, "Sunshine and Monsters." Interesting imagery and great graphic details would make this really stand out in your home.

Etsy finds of the day
$150 Pointer pipe light from MESHarchitectures
Perfect for lighting up your man cave or welding shop or bar area.
$70 Typography serving platter from gleenashop
Word nerd.
$27 Serif tote bag from TheLittleFactory
I have more tote bags than any bag lady I've seen but this one appeals to me for its witty take on the printed letter. I don't need it though. Maybe you do.
$12 Vintage mink cufflinks from jennysjunque
Ooh, how do you get your shirt so... furry? I would like to see an ibanker show up to work in his BB shirt and these links.
$25 Moss ring from AdornJewelry
You can have a literal green thumb. The moss is fake so you can't kill it even if you try.
$40 Black and tweed bowtie
This would look great with a black tux, make it a little more interesting and personalized.
$79 Japanese maple seed pendant necklace from PatrickIrlaJewelry
This necklace has been perfectly cast. Don't you feel like you can just split them and stick them to your nose?
I like how they almost look like insect wings.
$24 Against the grain faux bois tie from binarywinter
Swirly and solid looking. Would look good with a plaid flannel shirt for that "formal logger" look.
$319 Spiky blue vase by jadeflower
Even when your flowers don't have thorns, your vase will. Also probably a good deterrent to keep annoying cats from knocking it over.
$17 Moon clock from CyberMoon
For the little astronaut who has learned to tell time.
$17 Missing time clock from CyberMoon
I like the traditional look of the numbers and the hands and then that there is nothing else there.
It's funny how many clocks I like the look of because in real life I absolutely hate hearing clocks tick. Maybe I should just buy broken ones.

What to buy from Bed Bath & Beyond's clearance sale
$1.99 each bamboo placemats
Looks classy and durable, not hard to clean.
$14.99 portable fold-up pet house
Senator has something like this from IKEA (I call it his cabana) and he loves it.
$74.99 for Queen sheets DKNY Urban Pique
300 thread count and these look nice and like they would last and break in well over time.
$54.99 for Queen sheets Pure Beech Silk
I think I am really getting these.
I don't have any modal (beech fiber) sheets and I like the cool smooth way they feel. Could be a good summer purchase. They are like tee shirt sheets but more environmentally friendly.
$14.99 Wooden serving platter
Looks much more expensive than it is, a good housewarming or wedding gift for those on a budget.
$13.99 Cheese board set
In the same vein as the set above. Also the knives with the holes really do work better for cheese- they make it so the slices don't stay stuck to the knife.
$7.99 Scented monogram candles
Another nice item for a housewarming or birthday that looks fancier than its pricetag.
$19.99 Collapsible party carrier
Not that exciting to look at, but these come in handy and I've half-heartedly wanted one for a few years. They are good for transporting things to parties, work, potlucks, etc without using all your tin foil and plates and smushing everything anyway.

Finer Optics Dress
$84.99 from ModCloth
This is a great forever-dress. It will always be in style, classy, the right length, the right neckline, and it will always fit you because it is stretchy.
The pattern gives it a nice slimming effect and will make you stand out in a room in a good way.

Coffin storage system
$79.95 Hive storage unit from CB2
These are kind of neat, and I like the way they look when all stacked together (though that gets pricey):
But they do remind me of mini-coffins.
Good for putting stuff that you hate into, or subtly telling someone their gift was not the best while still displaying it.
Plus, if you have 3 guinea pigs and they happen to all die at once (did you forget to feed them?), they would make a great small pet coffin set.
I can see a little goth girl buying these and painting the inside red and the outside black and putting her crucifix and metal skull collection in them. I should prob write to CB2 with my idea and make mad ca$h, right?

Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips
I want these! They are strips of nailpolish that you peel and stick onto your nails and they come pre-decorated.
I haven't tried them yet but they look awesome and mess-proof.
$10 at drugstores
They have a lacy one, a net one, checked black and white, denim pattern, and a flower pattern. They also have plain colors and glitters but I am less excited about those.
